"Courageous Conversations"
Wayne Hodges
MISSION, Kan - What's happening jive turkeys? I'm the blogger at MassAppealNews.com.known to many around the block as Aristotle Jr. Man, the "Courageous Conversations" webinar was simply off the hook last night. Lots of great information. And plenty of excellent discussion on the state of our nation's public education system. It was my first webinar experience. And I really enjoyed it. I must thank the event's emcee, Hafeeza Majeed, for the invite. The program was truly outstanding. The format was computer friendly. And I can't wait for the sequel. I encourage everyone to participate in the next one. Hafeeza, great job! Please send us a date and time.

"Courageous Conversations"
"Courageous Conversations" -- We have the right idea -- Guiding students to use technology in a positive way to reach out to their peers!
This Sunday, during the Students' Hour, 7-8p.m. (cst), join my middle school classroom and students from other classrooms across the country. They will use their cell phones to text positive messages of encouragement to their peers wishing them a successful Benchmark testing session. It will be safe fun!
Then, during the Parents' Hour, 8-9p.m. (cst), I invite you to join the dialogue and embrace my vision for establishing high-performing charter schools as effective educational alternatives. The expectation is "excellence in education" for all students! Please view attachment! "We're leaving no child and no parent behind!"
Peace,
Hafeeza

"Courageous Conversations"
Mission Statement:
“Courageous Conversations” is committed to engaging the parents of underperforming students in the daily educational process of their children. Our mission is steeped in the proven research of the leading contemporary educational thinkers.
“The gap between the attitudes of parents of students in low-performing schools and parents of students in high-performing schools was highlighted in the recent report, One Dream, Two Realities: Perspectives of Parents on America’s High Schools”
(On The Front Lines of Schools: Civic Enterprises, www.civicenterprises.net)
Goal:
“Courageous Conversations” is the brain child of a highly qualified educator. It is this educator’s active response to the mounting body of research that examines academic achievement and the gap that exists between advantaged and disadvantaged youth; specifically, proficient students and below-basic and basic students. To that end, our goal is to “begin the right conversations” and to “complete the final task” of growing effective charter schools that achieve results, develop new approaches, and give parents more choices.
